ferric emission spectrum

The wave propagation of vibrational mechanical energy through matter as perceived by living organisms has a subset known as music. Boundary definitions for this subset are a cause for contention but generally it is accepted that it doesn't contain sounds produced by the didgeridoo, the piano accordion, or anything by Duran Duran (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Ed Force One, the IM chartered 757 piloted by Bruce Dickinson has apparently been flying about Europe in it's current colours for a month or so judging by the number of pics of it showing up on the net.

El Bravo and I have a preference for metal. This is a rather large collection of entertainment excellence and includes the forms of Gothic, Power, Black, Death, Doom, NWOBH, Speed, Epic, Thrash, Viking, Prog, Sludge, Grind, Symphonic, Folk, Funk, Nu, and Classical. Iron Maiden fit into lots of these subgenres and indeed probably initiated lots of them.

More recently they have been described as classical or prog, but the current tour - Somewhere Back in Time - is probably a wee bit more retro than A Matter of Life and Death, so we'll see.

Spectrally Maiden form most of the true union of El Bravo's and my metal subgenre subset preferences, but as our tastes are fairly catholic there are still

several score groups we would both make the trek to see live. The support groups for the Briswegian EntCent concert are Behind Crimson Eyes, and Lauren Harris. The former of these is a Melbourne based post-hardcore rock band who sound OK on youtube.

Ms Harris, on the other hand, is the daughter of the founder and bassist of IM and has a sound a bit like Joan Jett or Suzi Quatro but without any real vocal distinction. She may be better live than she appears on youtube - she is certainly easier on the eyes that her father... This will be the first Maiden concert I've been to where we've had seating. A concession for middle age.
