Sir kers

The Melbourne GP. Some thoughts.

Jenson: a brilliant start, especially compared to Rubens, a very consistent fast drive without punishing the new car overly, a last pit stop stuff up, but a win that was never going to be challenged by the guys behind him. I haven't cheered that much since... since his other win. His comment earlier about a non-kers car never being able to overtake a kers car didn't matter in the end. He led start to finish.

Rubens: lousy start, good driving, some cool overtakes and a surprising 2nd after being about 7th in the first corner. Historic for the team.

Vettel and Kubica: Ummm. a 50/50 incident?

Glock and Trulli: started from pit lane, progressed to 5th and 3rd (well, before the 25sec penalty) and along with Hamilton who found the podium somewhat later, shows that perhaps it is now possible to pass other cars. Rather a lot of cars. I hope it is not just a feature of the Melbourne track together with a bunch of new rules settling in. After watching some of the in-car telemetry stuff in Hamilton's car - I think I like KERS.

Webber: first corner chat to Raikkonen after he in turn had bounced off Barrichello after his bad start. So much for a good home GP.

Sir Richard: I think I like his style.

F1 2009? - I will definitely be tuning in.
