geriatology

Today was largely spent in conversation with student radiographers and other youngsters who weren't yet conceived when I first was payed to gratuitously irradiate members of the non-paying public. Interestingly sporty conversations they were, but generally not enough petrol burning was involved. AFL, NRL, ARU, FFA, NBL, NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB etc. Nary a mention of iso-octane enhanced aliphatic hydrocarbons combusted in the cause of high speed and somewhat risky competitioning. Nice kids they are, Ty and co, but it's hard to not drone on about the 'old days', and 'before you were born we would...' etc. My early memories of radiography are complemented with descriptions of life and work from the fifties and sixties by my mentors. I think I was polite and appeared to be interested in what they had to say.
I don't need reading glasses, yet.
