Le Tour kicks off tonight in a suburb of Paris called Londres, and goes past such places as Whitehall, Westminster Abbey, Piccadilly, Hyde Park, Buckingham Chateau and Grande Benne. More importantly just up the road in Northamptonshire, a young bloke called Hamilton is attempting to grab pole. He should go faster than Button. There are no clear favourites for the Giro de Frances which should make it more interesting and less pharmaceutical than ever before.
Somewhere back in those foggy days of the mid 80's when free love abounded and most of my friends were in jail for speeding offences, an album of parody hits appeared in my fashionable ghetto blaster one sunday morning. There was probably a party the night before - don't remember. The songs on it included:
- "I Don't Want Your Baby" by the Human Leak
- "Pretty boys on Film" by Drone Drone
- "Boring Song" by Status Quid
- "Lies" by SpamDown Belly
- "Are Trains Electric?" by Gary Inhuman
- "When Two Songs Sound The Same" by Frankie Goes To the Bank
- "Meaningless songs in very high voices" by the HeeBeeGeeBees
- "Where Ever I Lay my Hat,That's My Hatstand" by Paul Yuk
